Modern Working Environment Heralds a Successful Future

In 2024, Messe Düsseldorf in China continued to maintain a rapid growth momentum. By the end of 2024, its leading 11 exhibitions were successfully staged, spanning a diverse array of industries such as packaging, wire and tube, pipes and cables, medical devices, retail, occupational safety and health, wine and spirits, and caravaning. These events drew 9,800 exhibitors and over 500,000 professional visitors from home and abroad, with an exhibition area of approximately 710,000 square meters.

The new corporate brand stands for modernity and a strong customer focus

The best way to experience how Asia powers the global economy is by visiting one of its increasing number of ever-larger trade shows from Mumbai to Tokyo. Having recognized this potential early on, we started expanding our Asian business through local subsidiaries in the mid-1990s. A year ago, we decided to consolidate them under the “Messe Düsseldorf for Asia” umbrella. For 20 years, before joining Messe Düsseldorf’s executive team, Wolfram N. Diener was a key player in shaping and growing the trade show business in Asia. In his editorial, the President & CEO takes a look at the Asian trade show market and explains why Messe Düsseldorf started its current growth initiative in Asia with a focus on trade shows for the healthcare sector.

The inaugural Organic Festa Asia is set to take place from September 3 to 5, 2025, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). With the theme “Organic, A Sustainable Future”, the inaugural trade fair will comprehensively span the entire organic value chain—from the organic industry support systems, such as equipment, technology, inputs, and training, to organic production, processing, distribution, trade, and personal consumption. The event aims to reflect the scale of the organic industry in Asia and China, fostering sustainable growth through innovation and technology, while promoting an organic-centered, sustainable lifestyle. Ultimately, it seeks to deliver high-quality organic products to better meet consumer needs.

Asia's economy is full of potential, and Messe Düsseldorf aims to help its clients tap into it even more effectively and comprehensively: Its five Asian subsidiaries form the new “Messe Düsseldorf for Asia” network for this purpose. With MEDICARE ASIA it has also created a strong umbrella for its seven Asian medical technology and rehabilitation trade fairs. In this interview, Chief Operating Officer, Marius Berlemann, reports on the initial successes he presented at MEDICAL FAIR ASIA 2024 in Singapore.

Messe Düsseldorf Japan Ltd. (= MDJ; Tokyo/Japan, President – Akiko Ohara) will hold JIOSH+W – Japan International Trade Fair for Occupational Safety & Health + Well-being (in Japanese: はたらく現場の環境展) at INTEX OSAKA for the first time from 16 to 19 July 2025.

Evian Gu (42) will become General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf in China as of August 1, 2024 and thus head the subsidiaries Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai and Messe Düsseldorf China. In this position she succeeds Marius Berlemann (38), who will take up his new position as Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH on August 1, 2024. He will also continue to be Regional Head of “Messe Düsseldorf for Asia” (MDfA).
