Publication date:2024-08-16 16:33:39

A+A – the world’s leading Trade Fair for Safety, Security and Health at work – is organized by the mother company of MDJ; Messe Düsseldorf GmbH (MD). A+A started in 1954 and has been held in Düsseldorf, Germany, ever since in the autumn of uneven years. With the focus on inspirations for a better work environment A+A in 2023 attracted around 2,200 exhibitors from 58 countries and over 62,000 visitors from more than 140 countries. Messe Düsseldorf has already been expanding its international portfolio on occupational safety and health to Singapore in 1998, then to Istanbul, Shanghai and Bangkok.

All industries are required to push forward the traditional concept of “'occupational safety and health” and aim for “place to work where people can be happy” and “workplace where people can be proud of what they do” under the current trends in which SDGs and well-being are getting even more important. In view of this situation, JIOSH+W will focus on so-called “job sites (factories, construction sites, workplaces etc.)” and showcase for instance not only smart personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, helmets, protective goggles and clothing, but also functional and fashionable workwear, wearable devices to measure health conditions, and exoskeletons to help reduce workloads. The main exhibits of JIOSH+W will be products, technologies and services which create a working environment where everyone can work in good health and feel fulfilled & proud of his work.

The theme of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”. It therefore is a perfect timing for MDJ and MD to organize JIOSH+W in July 2025 at INTEX OSAKA co-located with Future Monodzukuri International EXPO (FMI EXPO).

FMI EXPO, organized by its Executive Committee consisting of 13 bodies, including The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Ltd., which is the organizer of iREX – International Robot Exhibition,

covers everything from fundamental to advanced technologies that will contribute to continue to be “Japan as a manufacturing nation” into the future. The 1st FMI EXPO held in May 2023 has attracted attention with nearly 200 leading Japanese companies exhibiting and more than 13,000 visitors. Its 2nd edition is scheduled for November 2024.

Mr. Eiyu Hayashi, Executive Officer of The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Ltd., which heads the Executive Committee of FMI EXPO, expressed his expectations as follows. “We feel very encouraged that FMI EXPO and JIOSH+W can offer even more comprehensive and diverse solutions to manufacturing sites through the partnership we have established with MDJ + MD. We are committed to creating a synergistic effect to become a unique business and opinion exchange platform where international exhibitors and visitors come together to stimulate related industries in Japan.”

An International Conference program will also be organized

The German Federal Association for Occupational Safety and Health (Basi) which is the partner of A+A and holds a conference at A+A will organize an international conference program during JIOSH+W and pick up topics of global interests.

Lars Wismer – Director of A+A and the Portfolio of Occupational Safety & Health is excited: “The first JIOSH+W will be held during the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan that has “Health and Well-being Week” as one of Theme Weeks. With our partner The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Ltd. we create a perfect synergy between FMI EXPO, JIOSH+W and Expo 2025 to make a significant contribution to improving job sites well-being in Japan and beyond. We will work together to ensure that FMI EXPO contributes to manufacturing technology and JIOSH+W to creating a better environment for the people who are working on-site.”

Dr. Christian Felten – Managing Director of Basi commented: “Basi warmly welcomes JIOSH+W starting from 2025 in Osaka/Japan and looks forward to realizing conference programs at JIOSH+W for OSH practitioners and decision makers.”

Count on JIOSH+W 2025 where products, technologies and services enabling everyone to work in good health and feel fulfilled & proud at the workplace gather under one roof, and where professionals from the occupational safety and health sector and companies pursuing well-being are expected to participate from the entire region!!
